Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) Enters Race to be Speaker of the House

It's official: Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is running for Speaker of the House.

On Friday, Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) announced that he will resign from Congress at the end of October.

McCarthy is the first representative to declare candidacy. He has served in Congress since 2007. He is currently the House Majority Leader.
