A new Pew poll says that 62% of Americans believe Muslims have equal rights to build houses of worship -- but that 51% believe they should not build a mosque at Ground Zero

.

It would be interesting to learn how the liberal elites construe this result; if every single American who opposes a mosque is motivated by nothing more than mindless hate, how does one reconcile the existence of the figures above, which make it clear that many both believe in religious freedom and oppose the Ground Zero mosque?

For normal people, the answer is easy.  People believe in freedom to build the mosque, while still opposing its construction in that one location.  But that doesn't satisfy many of the hate-deplorers on the left.

Has it ever occurred to them that, if Muslims conclude -- to America's detriment -- that those in the US hate them irrationally, it might be primarily attributable to their loudly repeated, constant meme about "hate" that actually caused the problem, not the limited (and entirely correct) objection to building a mosque at Ground Zero?
