An "Up or Down Vote" About Abortion

Marc Thiessen explains why Bart Stupak and other pro-life Democrats can't count on any deal they strike with Nancy Pelosi -- and why the result of caving to her could well be health care legislation in the form of the Senate bill.

And that bill, for those who don't remember, essentially guarantees the enshrinement of abortion as a fundamental health care right.  What's more, it would eliminate the ability of health care providers to decline to provide abortions on moral grounds, as Charmaine Yoest notes in the Wall Street Journal.

Let's hope Stupak and other pro-life Democrats hold tight to their principles.  The unborn babies are counting on them.
