Scurrilous Bill Clinton

It's remarkable that a draft dodger like Bill Clinton would even dare to comment about the mental fitness of those who -- unlike him -- have actually served and suffered for their country in the military.  But, of course, considerations of decency have never been foremost in the ex-President's mind, and

he did:

"It's like if you know anyone who's ever been a POW for any length of time, you will see that (they) go along for months or even years and then something will happen that will trigger all those bad dreams and it will come back.''
Obviously, this is a veiled effort to cast aspersions on John McCain's ability to handle the presidency.   And just as all decent people have an obligation to clarify that Barack Obama is not a Muslim, they also have the responsiblity to squelch whispering campaigns that suggest that a POW -- by the very fact that he sacrificed for his country -- is per se unqualified for a job like the presidency.

Update: Here are pictures of McCain's "room" at the "Hanoi Hilton."  Given the conditions -- and these are after the cells have been cleaned up -- perhaps President Clinton would be better advised to thank Senator McCain, rather than smearing him by innuendo.
