Guess Who's Opposing Pulling Funding from the World Health Organization

The World Health Organization (WHO) has been a disaster throughout the entire Wuhan coronavirus pandemic. Instead of focusing on protecting the world from this outbreak, the organization has been more concerned with helping China guard their public image.

Back in December, Taiwan made every effort to alert the WHO to the coronavirus outbreak, as evidenced by the recent release of an email. Instead of taking the warning seriously, the WHO dismissed Taiwan. A large part of that is because Taiwan is being punished for questioning China and their tactics. In fact, Taiwan hasn't had a place at the international table since 2016, particularly at the World Health Assembly, because of Chinese pressure. The regime refuses to acknowledge Taiwan as a sovereign nation, even though they have been independent of China for more than 70 years. The Chinese Communist Party is determined to regain control of Taiwan, which is why the regime actively works to discredit the small island.

Despite knowing what they did, the WHO continued to push communist China's talking points, including the blatantly false claim that the virus is not spread through human-to-human transmission. This is something we know is the case, which is why the CDC has suggested people practice "social distancing" as much as possible. A few weeks later the WHO said it was unnecessary to restrict international air travel, which is what turned the Wuhan coronavirus epidemic into a pandemic.

With all that we know, Bill and Melinda Gates are still defending the WHO, especially after President Trump announced that the United States is halting funding to the organization. According to the couple, the WHO is critical to the world.

A few weeks ago, Melinda Gates even shared a video promoting the WHO's "Safe Hands Challenge." It's part of an on-going effort to get people to wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

She also penned an OpEd about the virus. At the end, she said we should work together to end the spread of the Wuhan coronavirus.

"In the meantime, all of us can do our part to slow the spread of this disease — and buy time for the people helping us to fight it — by following the advice of the World Health Organization and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to wash our hands and stay at home as much as possible," Melinda Gates wrote.

The WHO worked with the Chinese Communist Party to cover-up the virus. It parrotted China's talking points. It put China's image above millions of lives. If not now, when is the appropriate time to cut funding to the WHO? The United States is its major source of funding, and the WHO has done us more harm than good. We would be better off using those funds to protect our own citizens.
