WATCH: Maxine Waters's Unhinged Russia Conspiracy Theory Push

During an interview on CNN on Monday night, House Financial Services Committee Chairwoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) pushed a conspiracy theory that President Donald Trump colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election. She admitted that she doesn't have evidence to support the claim.

Her entire conspiracy theory centers around the idea that Vladimir Putin helped get President Trump elected because he would remove the sanctions placed on Russia.

"Because I believe, even though I don't have the facts to prove it, I believe that Putin wanted to lift the sanctions. He's always wanted to lift the sanctions that were placed on him because of his interfering and encouraging into Crimea. So I believe that they wanted to elect President Trump and Trump, I believe agreed. I will always believe this, that he agreed if he got elected that he would lift those sanctions," Water explained. "He would like to do it. He's not been able to do it, but when they talk about we're just making things up, and he talks about this as a witch hunt, there are too many facts."

"This president will not condemn Putin for hacking into the Democratic National Committee. He will not condemn him for hacking into our election system," she said. "These are facts. 17 of our intelligence agencies have said this. Are these patriots or not? I mean, what do they think about our Democracy being undermined by the President of the United States of America?"

According to the Congresswoman, Republicans continually say the Democrats are pushing this notion because they "don't like him." Her argument is that when Republicans make that claim they "don't really care what happens to this democracy, don't have an appreciation for the Constitution, and the fact that the Constitution gives us the responsibility to impeach when we see this president or any president, who is not good for the country, who is undermining our country, who is putting us in danger, who is aligning himself with a foreign country to interfere with our elections. Those are facts."

Waters was one of the Democrats who continually pushed for President Trump's impeachment since he took office. But apparently she missed the memo: after more than two years, hundreds of subpoenas and millions of dollars, Special Counsel Robert Mueller found the Trump campaign did not collude with Russia.

Mueller was supposed to deliver the Democrats' "smoking gun" that they needed to take down President Trump. They didn't get that and they've since latched onto Trump's call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. What's sad though? They hate Trump so much that they want a sitting president to collude with a foreign country. They would rather see our country collapse than see Trump succeed. And that's just wrong.
