BREAKING: Local Illinois GOP Headquarters Vandalized Over Kavanuagh Allegations

The walls on the Winnebago County Republican Party's headquarters in Illinois was vandalized sometime Saturday night. The person or people who vandalized the building spray painted "rape" and "shame" around the headquarters' perimeter.

County Republican leaders believe this was a result of the allegations against Judge Brett Kavanaugh and the hearings stemming from the allegations.

Rep. John Cabello shared the images on his Facebook page, along with a message for the opposition:

“This type of behavior is unacceptable and certainly does not live up to our community’s values. We all have differences but we must learn to disagree on policy without attacking people," Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara said, WREX-TV reported.

Any earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that this took place in Wisconsin. It took place in Illinois.
