Reporters Tell Congresswoman that Women Will 'Die' As a Result of Her Planned Parenthood Bill

Rep. Diane Black (R-TN) reintroduced the Defund Planned Parenthood Act last week. It is a priority, she believes, because the organization performs over 300,000 abortions a year and, as we learned a couple summers ago, has no problem negotiating the sale of fetal baby parts.

The legislation would prioritize preventive healthcare over elective abortion by placing a one year moratorium on all federal funding for Planned Parenthood, including its affiliates and associated clinics, until such time as Planned Parenthood certifies that it will not perform elective abortions or give funding to entities that do.

Instead, Black notes, the money usually funneled to the abortion giant would be redirected to the country's 13,500 community health centers.

Social media users ignored this latter point, excoriating Black for introducing the legislation that would supposedly roll back women's rights. Other liberal media reporters predicted the end of the female sex as we know it.

To the chagrin of these breathless tweeters, House Speaker Paul Ryan has promised that the anti-Planned Parenthood legislation would be included in the GOP-led effort to repeal and replace Obamacare.
