In New Series, Leah Remini Exposes Church of Scientology's Practice of Forced Abortions

Since leaving the Church of Scientology in 2013, actress Leah Remini has been outspoken in her criticism of the organization and has written a book detailing the abuses of the church. Now, she's the star of A&E's new hit docuseries "Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath," which continues to expose some of the lesser-known things about Scientology through interviews with other former church members. In the latest episode, former Scientologist Claire Henley explains that women in the church's "Sea Org," or the group of the most dedicated Scientologists, would be forced to undergo abortions if they got pregnant.

According to Henley, Sea Org was "no kids allowed," and that if a woman were to get pregnant, they would "instantly" be scheduled to have an abortion. If the woman refused, she would then be shunned, separated from her husband, and forced to engage in heavy manual labor.

Watch the clip below:

Sadly, this isn't the first time former Scientologists have blown the whistle on forced abortions. Astra Woodcraft, one of the admins on an ex-Scientologists website, left Sea Org rather than abort her child, and knows of several women who were forced to abort their children.

Absolutely horrific.

The Church of Scientology is now pressuring A&E to cancel the series.
