Tennessee Representative Holds Local Town Hall, Only to Be Chased by Angry Constituent

Town hall meetings are meant to give citizens a chance to voice their concerns and respectfully interact with their elected officials. But, these days, more and more Americans are using them as a means to verbally - and now physically - attack politicians they disagree with.

According to The Jackson Sun, Representative David Kustoff (R-TN) was almost run off the road Monday night after a town hall meeting at the University of Tennessee at Martin.

Thirty-five year-old Wendi Wright tailed Kustoff and his aide directly from the event. When Kustoff began to feel unsafe, he pulled off the road and into the driveway of someone he knew. Wright followed. The woman then hopped out her car and began screaming as she banged on Kustoff’s windshield. She even tried reaching inside his car.

Wright also reportedly attempted to block Kustoff from leaving. However, she fled once the police were called.

Wright was later found and taken into custody after posting about the incident on Facebook. She is facing charges of felony reckless endangerment.
