Animated Films Keep Getting Better, and Trailer for the Latest One is Here with 'The Bad Guys'

As people are returning to venture out to resuming activities, like going to the movies, filmgoers have a delightful array of choices, including animated children's features that may even appeal to adults.

It's a classic story, based on The New York Times best-selling book series, of where a criminal crew of animal outlaws who broker a deal to go good in order to avoid prison time. While they initially have no intention of keeping to that deal--they are bad guys, after all--their ring leader, Mr. Wolf realizes it may be worthwhile to convince the gang to go good in order to gain that longed for acceptance.

These animated films really are enjoyable, to the point where adults may like the film just as much, if not more than, their children or younger relatives. Last year Netflix released "The Mitchells vs. the Machines" and "Vivo" both of which Townhall has reviewed.

The movie also has an all-star cast, including Academy Award-winning Sam Rockwell, Marc Macron, Craig Robinson, Anthony Robinson, Awkwafina, and Emmy-winner Alex Borstein. It's based on a Scholastic book series by Aaron Blabey, who is also an executive producer.

Pierre Perifel, an animator for the "Kung-Fu Panda" films will be making his feature-directing debut, and Damon Ross as well as Rebecca Huntley are producing. In addition to Blabey, executive producers include Patrick Hughes and Etan Cohen, of "Tropic Thunder" and the "Madagascar" films.

The newly released trailer for "The Bad Guys" is below. The film will be released in theaters on April 22.
