The doomed ship Titanic sank on sunk on April 12, 1912, after crashing into an iceberg in the Atlantic Ocean. The tragedy was made into an Oscar winning motion picture featuring a love story for the ages. I'll never let go Jack. It won a Best Picture Oscar in 1998.
Titanic II will feature the same cabin layout as the original and will sail from Dubai to Southampton, England and then on to New York. It will also hold the same number of passengers, 2,400, and crew, 900.
But thankfully, the new ship is not completely liked its original namesake; it will be have some important improvements. More lifeboats, for one thing.
“The ship will follow the original journey, carrying passengers from Southampton to New York," Blue Line chairman Clive Palmer said. "But she will also circumnavigate the globe, inspiring and enchanting people while attracting unrivaled attention, intrigue and mystery in every port she visits.”
