(Newser) – Rep. Michele Bachmann gave the strongest hint yet that she intends on running for president in 2012, in an appearance last night in New Hampshire, reports the Washington Post. "Obama has to go and has to be replaced, but not just by anyone," Bachmann told dozens of GOP activists. "Because we need a person who is going to stand up to Obamacare." She then added: "You’ve got to be willing to take on our party, the other party and then explain it to the people. I know I can make the case to the American people and win them over to our side."

Bachmann has said she will make an official announcement about her political plans in June in Iowa, her home state and traditionally the first primary state. But with Mitt Romney popular in New Hampshire, the important second primary state, and Sarah Palin drawing a similar demographic as Bachmann, she is struggling to advance politically there.
