To succeed, we all need to be speaking in a manner that both sides understand.
In one of the more comical memories from our wedding I recall my father speaking German to one of the women who introduced us. My father knew no Yiddish while the Hungarian wife of a big rabbi knew no German. As my head was spinning, I heard the two of them conversing successfully. Years later, I read about a young Jewish American officer who was given a group of SS members to guard in a former concentration camp. He took great joy in giving all of his orders in Yiddish, as the hybrid Jewish language is like scratching one’s nails on a chalkboard for anyone who speaks authentic German. He was so happy to make the Nazis miserable.
Imagine getting new neighbors, a young Muslim couple. You make a Halal-friendly cake and go over to say hello. As you speak with the husband in the foyer, the wife comes down the stairs. Her husband goes into a rage and tells her that she is not dressed properly and slaps her hard on the face. Then the East-West conversation takes place:
“What you did to your wife was disgusting!”
“Don’t judge me. In our culture, a wife who does not cover herself in the presence of strangers brings disgrace on the family and deserves a good beating.”
“But you are no longer in Karachi. Here in Podunk, we are Americans and we don’t do such things.”
“I don’t know. When we arrived, we were told that America is tolerant of all cultures and religions. So don’t judge me. I don’t tell you not to cut down a tree for your holiday and you don’t tell me how to treat my wife.”
And with that, you grab your cake and go home.
One of the problems we have today is a lack of communication. And I’m not talking about Google Translate, however amazing it is. It’s very hard for us in the West to understand that people from non-Western cultures may think differently than we do. We were told that all people were the same, individual bags of genes and proteins and we’re all about 99% biologically identical. Ideology trumps biology. Muslims respect force. The one and only time I saw Yassir Arafat with a look of fear on his face occurred when IDF forces entered Ramallah and began to destroy his home/office. He immediately called for his terrorists to stop all activities, as Israel regulated how much food and electricity he and his people were given in the Mukhata. If you show kindness or magnanimity, Muslims will see it as weakness. Many have told me that after Israel’s lightening victory in 1967, Arabs would run away from any Jew they saw in the Old City. They were terrified, even from children and unarmed civilians. As time passed, and the Israelis showed Western compassion and fairness, Arabs began attacking Jews, culminating in two intifadas and the October 7, 2023 pogrom.
Iran understands Tomahawk missiles and B-2 Bunker Buster bombs. They know that they do not have the same and have no effective defense against either. The mullahs and IRGC hate Israel and the US, but they respect their power when applied to Iranian assets. Right now, Iran sees a break in the hot war and believes that Donald Trump’s patience is not a sign of good will but rather weakness: the president is afraid to attack again. He is terrified of high gas prices in November. They don’t understand that Western strength includes reining in one’s enormous capabilities at times. For them, power means crushing others, as they have done for decades with their own people. If Donald Trump wants an agreement, and he ultimately wants to save lives, he will have to demonstrate a level of destructive power that gives the Iranian leadership no choice but to agree to ALL of HIS terms. That they apparently are still gurgling on about reparations, unfrozen billions in assets and charging for use of the nearby waterway means that they still have not received the memo in full.
The issue of speaking the same language is by no means limited to interactions between Westerners and Muslims. Even in the US, there is a communication problem. We can see that Republican senators refuse to pass the SAVE America Act, because RINOs wish for the return of USAID gravy and not more MAGA Senate members. They refuse to pass the law because they are not bothered by billions in waste and fraud. They have no interest in stopping the Democrats from cheating with dubious voting machines and late ballots. Trump rocks their boat; they would rather get rid of him than get rid of fraudulent elections, because they benefit from the latter.
So let’s move to the SAVE American Wallet Act. Any state that does not apply citizenship and picture ID requirements for elections will not receive any further federal funding. It does not matter if it is Medicaid or funds for building a bridge. Any state that does not guarantee free and fair elections does so at the price of no more dough from Washington. From the stories of billions of dollars of fraud and waste in just Minnesota and California, we know that both politicians and their NGO friends know how to game the system to line their pockets while pretending to provide hospice, daycare, “learing” and other services. Cut off the money—that is the only language they understand. If bringing out suitcases of ballots after the polling station has closed is more important than federal funding for medical research, then let’s save the American people money. As long as they can fraudulently use federal funds AND do whatever they want during elections, why should they change?
This approach can be used at many levels. Donald Trump started reducing Harvard’s federal research monies due to the university becoming a jihadist hellhole for Jewish students and faculty. Harvard is wealthy enough and haughty enough to play victim and try to use the courts to get the money without really changing. It can’t change. It is so beholden to its heavy Islamic donors that it cannot expel foreign students involved in making the campus unfriendly to Jews. I found it amusing that the former head of Harvard’s Chemistry Department is now in China, after serving jail time for not telling the federal government about his Chinese funding during his tenure at Harvard.
Atomic bombs, the destruction of Berlin and Operation Linebacker II over North Vietnam got all three of America’s enemies’ attention. Years of warfare may have prepared the groundwork for the final blows, but—for example—the massive destruction from the air over key North Vietnamese infrastructure brought Ho Chi Minh’s people back to Paris to finalize an agreement. One of the reasons why the West must reverse large-scale Muslim immigration is that there is no language that a Christian West and an Islamic minority can share. Many Muslim newcomers make it clear that they expect the West to change for them and that their overall goal is to make Western countries Sharia-compliant. You cannot have Western values that would be acceptable to Muslims who often loathe the countries who have again shown weakness by taking them in and giving them food/lodging/money and more. These are signs of losers for the more militant of them, and whereas most other immigrant groups showed thanks for being given a new life, illegals immigrants coming to European shores today do no such thing. They make numerous demands, and the self-loathing local leaders run over their citizens to give the newcomers what they want. Make it clear that they will become good citizens or they will be sent home.
