The U.S. Is At War, But Hillary Refuses to Admit It

The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Townhall.com.
Yet again, Hillary Clinton has gave us another reason to believe she is completely unfit to lead this nation. Clinton said "I won't declare war on a religion," in an interview on NBC's Today show this morning. She even said calling the attack an act of radical Islam "plays right into ISIS's hands."

She may have said she would use the term radical Islam, but she then said "that's not the point." This was an attack by a terrorist using a completely warped version of Islam.

If that's not the point, then what is the point?

We're not asking you to declare war on all Muslims, we're asking you to actually call this attack what it really is. This attack was the result of radical Islamic terrorism, see that wasn't too hard.

Let's look at the facts of this case we know so far.

Forty nine people are dead and 53 are wounded in what has become the worst shooting in U.S. history.

The shooter was Omar Mateen, a 29 year-old man born in this country. Mateen was interviewed by the FBI in 2013 and 2014, and both times they did not find him to be a threat.

Mateen during the attack called 911 to pledge his allegiance to ISIS. Yes, you read that right, he himself claimed his actions were motivated by radical Islam.

This country cannot afford to continue beating around the bush on this issue. We are at war with radical Islam, not the entire religion, but the radical interpretation that thinks these kind of attacks are justifiable.

To defeat radical Islam once and for all we must enlist the help of all Muslims to show that this warped view of Islam is not acceptable. Clinton doesn't want to do that because that's probably not something her focus groups have found to win her support, but it's what must be done for our safety.

Many on the left have said how attacks like this can't happen again, but for some reason they seem to think guns are the problem. A gun is only a tool, it can't fire itself. I agree with my friends on the left that another attack like this can't happen again, but radical Islam is the problem not the gun.

I find it ironic that Clinton refuses to declare war on Islam, but for some odd reason she had no problem attacking Christians last year.

She said how Christians have to change their beliefs, when she addressed the Women in the World Summit last year. "Deep seated religious cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed," said Clinton in reference to how Christians need to support abortions.

Also, Clinton did not once mention the horrific genocide that ISIS is committing towards Christians, when she gave her speech this afternoon that outlined all of the horrible acts ISIS is committing.

So, it's easy for Clinton to declare war on religious Christians for not supporting abortions, but she refuses to declare war on radical Islam. I guess for a person like Clinton it's easier to attack the right in this country than to attack radical Islamic terrorists, the only true enemy this country has.

She has instead taken the chance to wage a war with the gun industry, rather than attacking our true enemy, radical Islam.

"We can't fall into the trap that is set up by the gun lobby that says if you can't stop every shooting and every incident you should not try to stop any," said Clinton this morning on CNN's New Day. We should never have another shooting like this, and the way to make that a reality is to declare war on radical Islam.

Don't fall for Clinton's thinly veiled political assault on our second amendment rights. We cannot let Clinton exploit this horrific tragedy to advance her political agenda.
