Obama Muslim Support Logical Expression of Identity Politics

The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Townhall.com.

Just in time for his Lame Duckness to become even lamer than previously thought, a new poll shows that Obama has wrapped up a solid three-quarters of the all-important Muslim on the street vote.

“Seventy-two percent of U.S. Muslims approved of the job President Barack Obama was doing as president during the first six months of 2014,” says Gallup, “higher than any other U.S. religious group Gallup tracks.”

So there’s that.

If you’re Muslim, what’s not to like?

Oil prices are keeping the petrodollars rolling into a multitude of mostly Muslim but uniformly corrupt states not starting with “United” that use the money to export both religion and a reign of terror; Israel is being attacked, this time by the expansion of militants’ ability to send missiles farther into Israel than previously able to; Al Qaeda is threatening to spread Islamic governance, under the imprimatur of bin Laden; and where Al Qaeda isn’t in control, Iran is.

All you really need to know is that what the rest of us consider a foreign policy disaster has only shaved off the margin of error from Obama’s popularity with Muslims in America.

They think that Missiles over the MidEast is great!

Beheadings? Hurrah!

Dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria?

Yep.

According to Gallup Obama’s popularity with Muslims is just five percentage points below his average of 77 percent that he enjoyed from 2009 to 2014.

There is no stopping the Democrat juggernaut-drive-by-policy wreck.

None of them.

But the good news?

Bill DeBalasio, mayor of New York, and general practitioner of a perverse type of noblesse oblige that’s currently called progressive, is going on a ten-day trip to Italy that you can’t afford because…well…there are just some things you need to trust the government on.

And apparently the good government advocates in Italy (ha!) are welcoming DeBlasio as a symbol of Italian-American success.

“Mr. de Blasio’s team is scheduling meetings with top Italian mayors and government officials,” says the New York Times, “and he plans to sit with members of the local media, which has embraced Mr. de Blasio as a symbol of Italian-American achievement and pride.”

I know the appeasement policies coming from progressives like Obama might confuse folks who thought we left the 1930s behind in, well, the 1930s.

You know? After the last Great War caused by progressives?

But memo to Italians: There are a considerable portion of Americans that Italy can be proud of here in the 2014s.

DeBlasio isn’t even the best Italian American mayor that New York has had.

That would be Rudy Giuliani, in the same way that Bill Clinton was a better black president than Barack Obama has been.

A trillion dollars for Wall Street while black neighborhoods remain under siege in Chicago, a phenomenon that Obama helped create because the city is broke.

From slavery to segregation to dependency, and no more so than under a “black” president who has been nothing short of a disaster for black communities no matter how much pride he engenders amongst African Americans.

Pride is an amorphous, fleeting thing.

It doesn’t stop bullets or missiles.

Or feed kids.

And that just proves that race, creed, color is more style than it is substance anyway.

And it gives ammo to those who think that Obama is the best Muslim president the United States has ever had.

And since that’s the point of identity politics as practiced by progressives, then that’s just lame.
