Memorial Day 2023 has come and gone. The weekend was a period of remembrance for those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice so we can enjoy our beach days, barbeques, baseball games, and other summer-related activities in peace and safety. For the 30,000-plus Americans who died in Korea, thank you. I'm living a better life here with a loving family, a citizen of the greatest country. That wouldn't have been possible without American troops landing in Inchon in 1950. Countless generations of South Koreans owe gratitude to American military intervention as the Republic of Korea was hanging by a thread around the southern city of Busan before General Douglas McArthur's dangerous amphibious landings. Today, over 51 million South Koreans live in relative peace and prosperity, with a trillion-dollar economy – free from the yoke of brutal communism, thanks to Western intervention. It had to be done. And let's not forget the 250,000 Americans who died saving the world from Nazism and a militaristic Japan run amok during World War II, the near-60,000 Americans who died in Vietnam, and the thousands we've lost recently in Iraq and Afghanistan.
All this sacrifice was boiled down with a simple sentence from Vice President Kamala Harris in 2021: enjoy the long weekend.

Let's revisit this. Are you kidding me, lady? The left always raves about democracy, but only when they win, and the criticism that they're anti-American or ones who rush to bash the nation is encapsulated in this tweet. I'm not saying it had to be marinated and deep-fried in jingoism, but Ms. Harris should've been aware of the moment.
She delivered an address at West Point this year, the first woman to do so, which was probably barely coherent and fraught with platitudes, but that makes this past transgression even more heinous. This year's social media activity was obviously different because the vice president delivered a commencement address to graduating cadets, men, and women who could die in combat.
On Memorial Day, we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.

We owe these heroes, and their survivors, a profound debt – and we will never forget what they have done to protect our safety and our freedom.
From West Point to the White House, I had the privilege to spend time with many of our brave service members this week. There is no more noble work that a person can do than to serve our nation in uniform. pic.twitter.com/7iLyFJ2p8D

On Memorial Day, we pay tribute to our fallen heroes – our brave service members who made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of our country.

Instead of the 2021 treatment, where she acted as if it was Presidents' Day weekend Part II, the VP, to her credit, got with the program. Her team was at least prepared. Yet, the little things continue to show that Ms. Harris doesn't understand the job and, worse, can't do it properly.
We've known this for years now. The dilapidated speeches, the bungling of White House talking points on Ukraine, and the painfully dreadful address about microchips she delivered in front of a Silicon Valley audience, no less, suggest that the woman remains out of her depth. It's not that hard, ma'am. The role of the VP is to have a pulse merely. That's the most basic function. The other aspects rely on past knowledge and experience, neither of which Harris ever possessed. Understanding government and basic American history is another plus since wonky parties and gatherings could be in the mix at some point. Harris strikes out there, too.
It's become so bad that the Biden staff almost treats her as ornamentation, which I'm sure doesn't sit well with Harris or what's left of her team, who haven't fled to greener pastures over her alleged toxic workplace conditions. Even if Harris looked put together this weekend, it's unsustainable, something she shares with her boss, Joe, who is barely functioning at the mental capacity of a 7-year-old.
Joe Biden is reportedly beyond frustrated with Harris, who seems to be running her agenda. But Biden is stuck with her because there's no one else, which is a horrifying concept. The kicker is that the California liberal no doubt holds presidential aspirations even though her job performance, where failure is pervasive, remains her blind-spot. Even seasoned Democratic Party operatives know the Harris candidacy is a non-starter now. Blissfully unaware tweets like that only add to the narrative. Is that 2021 trip-up her worst one? You decide.
