Only God knows the future—or if there will even be one—so any attempt by a mortal of decidedly limited intelligence to predict what will occur this year is hubris, presumption, and arrogance gone to seed.  History can give us some generics; “trends” can be discovered, and thus, some vague prognostications can be assayed.  It doesn’t take a prophet to foresee that Joe Biden will almost surely continue to be an utterly incompetent President, the moral degeneration of America will continue, and the Democratic Party will persist in its attempts to destroy the country.  But I’d like to throw out a few possibilities and invite the readers to add some of their ideas in the comments section.  It’s thought-provoking, interesting, and fun, regardless of how right or wrong we all might be.

Here are some thoughts I have on possible happenings in this crucial year.  I’ll put them in question form so I can always deny I predicted them.

    1.  Will the economy finally collapse?  Every year, some economists (s) predict that the year will bring economic Armageddon, and I’ve seen a few such predictions already in the past few weeks about 2024.  One of these years, they will be right.  Debt eventually must be paid or defaulted on; in America’s case, it will be the latter, as revolting politicians continue their irresponsible, profligate spending, buying as many votes as possible and kicking the disaster down the road for later politicians to get the blame for.  The cataclysm will happen one year, but my guess is not this year.  It’s an election year.  The Fed almost surely wants Joe Biden (or a Democrat) elected President, so it will doubtless do all it can to prop up the economy at least through 2024.  Of course, humans cannot control economic laws; the Fed, eventually, will not be able to prevent the collapse it is helping to cause.  But again, I don’t think it will be this year or that America will suffer a catastrophic recession/depression.  Getting Biden re-elected is the priority of the Deep State, of which the Fed is a major part.  They will do everything possible to keep America afloat until the House of Cards comes tumbling down, beyond their control.

If the collapse DOES happen, Biden will be toast.  Americans will vote for their pocketbooks first, even for the hated Trump.

    2.  How many major wars will the world be involved in by January 2025?  I suspect that the Russia-Ukraine war might be paused; by that, I mean the current war will cease, and the two countries will prepare for their next conflict in a few years.  Russia and Ukraine have been fighting for generations and will continue to do so into the indefinite future.  This is one reason America’s involvement is useless; our money will never unite those two people.  But Biden and Congress know no history, any more than 99% of Americans do, so the Uniparty will continue to scream for aid to Ukraine until the current fighting ends.  I think both Russia and Ukraine are getting exhausted and may decide to terminate their struggle.  Biden will take credit for it, and countless Americans will believe him.

How about Israel/Hamas?  That one may keep going beyond this year.  It only started on October 7, and it seems to be expanding.  The Israelis are no-nonsense types and might be able to utterly obliterate Hamas by year’s end.  Let’s hope so, and let’s hope the other Arab/Muslim countries will let it happen so they can keep selling their oil.

Will Xi Jinping invade Taiwan?  China is in a mess economically right now.  Many cities don’t even have the money to sweep the snow off their streets.  However, Xi is, from my sources, apparently trying to recruit to build up his military.  If the Chinese economy continues to go south, Xi could use the military he controls to retain his power as long as possible, and he might invade Taiwan to rally the country to the flag.  But my guess is he isn’t in a disastrous situation yet, and won’t start what would definitely be a costly war he can’t afford.  If he DOES invade Taiwan, that will tell us just how desperate and precarious Xi feels his position to be.  This is going to be very interesting to watch.

    3.  Who wins the American 2024 election?  I’m going to write a full column on this shortly, so I will only touch on it here.  Right now, it’s Trump vs. Biden again.  There is, of course, a possibility—I put it at around 20%—that November will see at least one different candidate on the ballot.  The Republicans have a man who could almost surely win the election—Ron DeSantis.  But the Republican faithful are being...faithful...to Donald Trump (at the moment).  The Dems won’t drop Biden unless he drops.  Trump vs. Biden appears likely.

Both men have decided on difficulties.  At least half the country hates Donald Trump and will never vote for him.  His name on the ballot will inspire countless Democrats to go vote and will, no doubt, inspire massive cheating efforts, which Ronna McDaniel is clueless about how to prevent.  But Biden is vulnerable.  If the economy turns decidedly south (regardless of the Fed’s efforts, see point one), then America could, and probably would, turn back to Trump.  Based Republicans will obviously support him; will enough RINOs and Independents hold their noses and vote for Trump, too?  That is the 64-dollar question.

The border crisis is egregiously hurting Biden.  Even Democrats are getting tired of it.  If he does the intelligent thing and caps it for a while, he can help himself.  If he lets it continue, it will cost him a lot of votes.  Enough to elect Trump?  I tend to doubt it, but November is eleven months away.

These are my guesses only.  What else might happen in 2024?
