Because I was a historian by trade, I wrote a lot of history.  And most people tell me they really enjoy grounding my articles in history.  I intend to continue doing it.  I do it mainly because history is an actual record of what happened on earth in the past.  We study history to learn the good and the bad, the wise and the otherwise, which works and doesn’t.  History teaches us those things.  However, we have not learned very well because most people don’t study history very much.  We have our “ideas” of the ideal life, but too often, they run smack dab into an awfully stubborn brick wall called “life.”  That is history.  The way things really have been and are.

Frankly, while there have obviously been many intelligent men through time, spouting their ideas about life in general, most human philosophy is just garbage.  Interesting garbage, maybe, but still garbage.  Study Marx.  He sounds smart, but he was an egghead imbecile.  His philosophy and economics are pure poppycock.  Any philosophy divorced from God—the Ultimate Reality—is rubbish; one person’s subjective opinion is no better than anyone else’s.  Men, all through the ages and all over the world, have enjoyed speculating, musing, and philosophizing about the way things “should” be.  It is part of our nature.  You do it, I do it, we all do it, and usually, we are the worst for it because of...well, the title of this article.  When human philosophy meets historical reality, history always wins.  100% of the time.  That’s why I do history, not philosophy.  If you have a philosophy that contradicts historical facts and reality, please change your philosophy.  I guarantee you that history, nature, and reality are not going to change.  Not for you or anybody else.

Examples.  Communism, socialism, Leftism, whatever you want to call it, is the current supreme specimen.  It sounds so good—a perfect golden age of equality, freedom, and human brotherhood (frankly, it’s not new to our time).  It is a marvelous...philosophy...and so many people have swallowed it, including many Americans, mostly Democrats, who preach it as far and as widely as possible.  But when socialism (communism) has run into reality, it has failed utterly and completely and has brought more misery to humanity than probably any philosophy ever conceived.  Utopia sounds wonderful.  But then, it meets the reality of human nature and economic laws, and the consequences have been horrifying, to say the least, for hundreds of millions of innocent people who didn’t—or did—believe this utterly unrealistic, unhistorical, unhuman human philosophy.

But people still believe it and probably will continue to because everybody wants to go to heaven.  Socialists promise heaven on earth.  It never happens.  It never will happen.  It is an entirely nonsense philosophy, and history has proven it to be so.  When human philosophy meets historical reality, history always wins.  That’s why I do history.

Transgenderism is another example.  “Men can become women, and women can become men.”  This is unscientific in the extreme (not to mention unhistorical), but again, look at the consequences of such an absurd philosophy.  The number of “transgender” people who are seeking mental health assistance or who have committed suicide is staggeringly above national averages.  Women are being robbed of their rewards and rightful attainments.  “Transgender” people, and those who defend them, are denying reality, historical and otherwise, in their pursuit of an errant philosophy about humans—that men and/or women can change genders.  And, of course, they are horribly mutilating countless numbers of innocent children in the process.  I pray to God that this hideous philosophy is only a fad that will soon pass.  But, knowing humans, knowing their undying search for some personal utopia, regardless of its denial of truth, reality, or nature, I wonder how long we will have to endure this sad tragedy.  It may sound good:  “Men can become women and visa-versa.”  It sounds stupid to me, but many people have succumbed to it.  But it is human philosophy only.  And it’s a disaster, as we might expect because it conflicts with reality.

The last example I want to give is a little.  It hurts because I greatly respect the men who founded our country.  I think they were brilliant men and wise students of history.  Because of their fear of government tyranny—a near absolute in historical reality—they tried to establish a system where Americans could enjoy freedom from such tyranny and live their lives in accordance with nature and nature’s God without the oppression of power-hungry despots.  They did such a good job in setting up America’s government that we, as a people, have, by and large, enjoyed great freedoms from government tyranny.  But that seems to be eroding now, thanks to the Democratic Party.  What has happened?

The Founders made one crucial mistake—their “limited government” ideal has now run head-on into the historical reality of the human lust for power.  The Democratic Party in America is a believer in the Leftist, socialist, totalitarian government lie.  They want power.  Totalitarian power.  And they are doing everything they can, and too successfully, in destroying the system set up by America’s Founders.  Our Constitution was so superbly written that, indeed, the Democrats often struggle to get around it to obtain the power they crave.  But human desire for power is one of the greatest realities of history.  And no philosophy, no matter how well conceived and constructed, has been, or ever will, counteract and defeat it.  Our Founders’ efforts were the best, by far, ever attempted.  But those efforts are now being burned on the altar of human megalomania.  Philosophy has once again met history.

Human philosophy is junk, often murderous junk.  God and history give us the answers.   Adjust your philosophy to historical reality, please.
