Do Republicans need to be unified? Do we need to be together? Do we need to be part of the whole, unite and assimilate into the borg that is conservatism? Well, first of all, the borg isn't conservatism – within the Republican Party, you have conservatism, goofy libertarians, populists, and some moderates. It is a coalition. It's a gang. And this is why we have a primary. This stuff needs to be beaten out. Now, I hear a lot of people yelling, "Trump and DeSantis can't fight! We need unity right now!" Well, we need unity on certain issues. But we also need to have a vigorous debate. And there's no better time to have that debate than during the time of debate, which is the primary season. However, there will come a time when we must unify.
