Holy crap. What did we just watch? We knew the debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump would be brutal, but it was a catastrophe.
For the past six months, President Joe Biden has been in a steady mental decline. Things have been bad for a while, but they've gotten worse.
In February, former Special Counsel Robert Hur gave the country a crystal clear view of Biden's mental capacity when he failed to charge him with a series of felonies for mishandling classified information.
"We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory," Hur's report states. "Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt. It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him — by then a former president well into his eighties — of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness."
The White House threw a fit over Hur's description of Biden, which was a tell it was true.
Four months later, Biden stepped on the debate stage in Atlanta, Georgia, waved and said hello to an audience that didn't exist, and went down in spectacular fashion against an old foe — former President Donald Trump.
This debate was supposed to be easy for Biden. After all, we have been told by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre that the president is "full of rigor" and has "lots of energy" behind closed doors.
"He's sharper than anyone I've spoken to," Democratic Congressman Dan Goldman proclaimed on CNN.
But we could all see the trainwreck coming. After all, we have eyes.
During a recent fundraiser in glitzy Hollywood, former President Barack Obama led a frozen Biden off the stage. The video — one of many showing Biden confused or wandering off — went viral, prompting the White House and their friends in the media to create a new term and narrative.
"I think you all have called this the 'cheap fakes' video. And that's exactly what they are. They are cheap fakes video. They are done in bad faith. And, and some of your news organizations have, have been very clear, have stressed that these right-wing, the right-wing critics of the President, have a credibility problem because of, the fact-checkers have repeatedly caught them pushing misinformation, disinformation," Jean-Pierre berated from the lectern.
The only people faking anything are Biden's staff, fellow Democrats and his family. First Lady Jill Biden has repeatedly done the media circuit to claim "Joe is ready to go!" In the disastrous aftermath of Biden's performance, she continued the charade.
"Joe, you did such a great job answering every question! You knew all the facts!" the First Lady bizarrely claimed to a post-debate, late-night crowd.
Biden is not okay. We all know it. He's not fit to be running for president, not to mention being the president. While American voters watched the debate in shock, dangerous adversaries and enemies watched with pleasure. While the Biden family refuses to do the right thing, they're putting the rest of us in danger.
