The Backdrop of Biden's D-Day Speech Was Glaring

President Joe Biden made his way to Normandy this week to commemorate the 80th anniversary of World War II's D-Day landings.

During remarks at the American Cemetery, Biden made all kinds of big proclamations about freedom and defending democracy for the next generation.

"We cannot let what happened in Normandy be lost in silence. The fact that our service members were heroes that day does not absolve us of what we must do today. Because democracy is never guaranteed. Every generation must preserve it, defend it, and fight for it," Biden said.

But the reality of the world's challenges under his weak leadership was blaring in the background.

Shamefully, in his effort to appease pro-Hamas factions back home ahead of a presidential election, Biden failed to mention the war against Israel – the only democracy in the Middle East and a longtime Western ally. He refused to condemn the Iranian-backed organization's efforts to wipe the country off the map after recently slaughtering thousands – including dozens of Americans. At least five Americans are still held hostage in the Gaza Strip.

This snub was particularly glaring given Israel's establishment as a modern country in the aftermath of WWII and Hitler's holocaust. Eighty years apart, Iran carries on Hitler's goal.

"U.S. President Harry Truman was the first world leader to officially recognize Israel as a legitimate Jewish state on May 14, 1948, only 11 minutes after its creation. His decision came after much discussion and advice from the White House staff who had differing viewpoints. Some advisors felt that creating a Jewish state was the only proper response to the holocaust and would benefit American interests," the National Archives states.

Back on the European continent, which Biden did speak about, for the first time since WWII, we are watching a conquest from Russia against Ukraine. The timing of Vladimir Putin's 2022 invasion wasn't a coincidence. He waited for Biden's weak leadership, capitulation and hesitancy to settle in and then made his move.

Two years later, Putin continues to flirt with nuclear engagement while Russian warships and a nuclear submarine are headed to Cuba — where the government assures the U.S. they "don't pose a threat."

In Africa, Biden just turned over a taxpayer-funded base to the Russians – leaving U.S. troops vulnerable and notching another win for the Kremlin.

"The Pentagon this week formally ordered all 1,000 U.S. combat troops to withdraw from Niger, a blow to the Biden administration's effort to counterterrorism and Russian influence in West Africa," POLITICO reports. "The U.S. announced in April that it would begin discussing plans for 'an orderly and responsible withdrawal' after Niger's military junta declared it would revoke its military cooperation deal with Washington."

Given how the withdrawal from Afghanistan went, prepare for another disaster Biden will take zero responsibility for.

We can't say we weren't warned.

"He has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades," former Bush and Obama Defense Secretary Bob Gates said in 2014, doubling down on the assessment since Biden became president in 2021.

The reality of a world on fire overshadowed Biden's remarks. Given Biden's track record, things will get worse.
