If the Omniscient Lord could be surprised, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s profession that her public policies are “giving voice” to “the values” of Jesus would be a stunner of biblical proportions.
Her mute brethren, who descend into tongue-babbling tremors when a conservative politician waxes liturgical, are cloistered in a vow of silence at the first church of hypocrisy.
David Brody of CBN’s “The Brody File,” has posted the video and transcript of Pelosi’s comments to the Catholic Community Council on Capitol Hill, May 6:
They ask me all the time, ‘what is your favorite this? What is your favorite that? What is your favorite that?’ And one time, ‘What is your favorite word?’ And I said, ‘My favorite word? That is really easy. My favorite word is the Word, is the Word. And that is everything. It says it all for us. And you know the biblical reference, you know the Gospel reference of the Word.”
“And that Word," Pelosi said, "is, we have to give voice to what that means in terms of public policy that would be in keeping with the values of the Word. The Word. Isn’t it a beautiful word when you think of it? It just covers everything. The Word.
“Fill it in with anything you want. But, of course, we know it means: ‘The Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us.’ And that’s the great mystery of our faith. He will come again. He will come again. So, we have to make sure we’re prepared to answer in this life, or otherwise, as to how we have measured up.”
Unfazed by Pope Benedict’s up close and personal rebuke for informing the world that the Catholic Church is clueless about when life begins, Pelosi has anointed herself the political voice of the flock, and is exhorting clergy to preach Democratic policy from the pulpit. She’s passed over the lefts’ “wall of separation between church and state” in a move that would make “The Flying Nun” feel earth-bound.

Pelosi thinks it’s quite orthodox to use her position as Speaker of the House to tell clergy to teach that amnesty for illegal aliens is a “manifestation of our living the Gospels.” It’s heretical, however, when clergy tell her as House Speaker that her abortion advocacy violates church doctrine. “According to St. Speaker:
“When they call me on the phone here to talk about, or come to see me about an issue, that's a different story. Then they are advocates, and I am a public official, and I have a different responsibility.”
Her double standard must be another “great mystery” of her faith.
Pelosi includes herself among those who “know what [the Word] means.” She “knows” that Jesus will return, and like the rest of us, she needs to be “prepared to answer in this life, or otherwise, as to how [she’s] measured up.”
Since Pelosi knows that she will be measured by the “Word,” she should study what the Word says about her congressional catechism:
Pelosi:
Abortion restrictions violate a woman’s free will.
The Word:
“You shall not commit murder.”
“For behold, when the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby leaped in my womb for joy."
Pelosi:
Rewards homosexual conduct
The Word:
“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.”
Pelosi:
Supports homosexual “marriage”
The Word:
“A man shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”
“Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.”
Pelosi:
“I’m trying to save the planet.”
The Word:
“For the Son of Man has come to seek and save that which was lost.”
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.”
Search the Bible until Armageddon, and you won’t find a scintilla of Scripture supporting Pelosi’s political “Gospel.” She obviously feels “free to fill in the “Word” with her values, rather than “the values” of the One whose “name is called The Word of God.”
The “Jesus” Pelosi claims to follow is one that the Apostle Paul’s warned against:
“For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.”
Hopefully, voters will send the Speaker on a sabbatical in November. Can I get an Amen?
