I’ve never been one to celebrate anyone or anything based on measures I deem stupid. The dumber the irrelevant characteristic, however, the more “celebration-worthy” it is declared by the progressive left. This ethnicity month and that skin color month, then you have a different month for various types of music created by people who happen to have a preferred ethnicity or politically useful skin color. The Democrat Party spends so much time insisting on our differences that even people who used to enjoy this garbage are having enough of it.
Everyone knows June is “Pride Month.” It used to be “Gay Pride Month,” but gay is the new straight and therefore unworthy of celebration. If you aren’t some degree of non-binary mutant insisting you are “pansexual” (which, despite the name, does not mean you have to him the T-Fal when they come over (though it still might be the safe play)) you are unworthy of a parade.
If you watch the popular culture, being gay is just this side of a death sentence, what with the rampant homophobia portrayed on television and talked about in “news” and celebrity media. In reality, not being on the fake and ever-expanding spectrum of genders and sexualities is akin to career suicide. It’s fashionable to be something other than normal.
It’s not like you have to actually act on any of it, just declare yourself to be “bi” because why not? It’s treated by the dominant culture as an accomplishment, even though it’s not, so even lazy people can pick of the applause equivalent of a participation ribbon by simply claiming to be it.
But just being gay? Boring.
Who am I to talk, I’m just a straight white guy. In other words, I’m the worst. All people who look like me did was create things that are useful, allow people to live longer, and make life better. Gross.
It’s kind of funny to me to see gay men sort of going down the same path as we straighties. The New York City “Pride” parade has 5 “grand marshals” this year, according to “NBC Out & Proud.” (Did you know news had sexuality?) None are gay men. One is a run of the mill lesbian, the other four are trans.
The march’s director told NBC Out & Proud, “At a time when LGBTQIA+ people are under increased attack, the NYC Pride March is a beacon of hope and community.” But not if you’re gay, and barely if you’re a lesbian. Men dominate women’s sports, when they declare themselves to be women, so it’s only a matter of time before men who declare themselves to be women dominate pride parades. If they all identify as lesbians as well, straight men will have pulled off the ultimate coup.
This whole enterprise is genuinely stupid. If you’re defined by your genitals or which type you prefer, and nothing else matters more, you’re a pathetic human being. No one should celebrate you, even on your birth day.
While it’s enjoyable to see the left split apart even further, suffering what they have inflicted on the rest of us for decades, it’s destructive to the country. People aren’t special because of who they screw. Sorry to be crude, but it’s true.
As I watch my Xfinity (God, I wish there were other options where I live), I’m inundated with ads for how “prideful” they are, not just in June but all year. I just feel pity for people who need this junk. Not because I’m spiteful, but because it’s being taken away.
Democrats build up the garbage to advantage themselves politically, and it’s largely worked. But like a junkie who has to keep upping their dose to get the same high because they’ve gotten used to it, the left needs to keep creating new ways to divide, new ways to lie to people that they’re “special” because they exist, not because of what they do. It’s cutting into itself now.
June used to be for gay people. Now it’s mostly for trans people, but still for gay people too. And, thanks to a decree by Joe Biden, it’s also Black Music Appreciation Month.
The black vote is the last group loyal to that senile fool and his band of fascists, but that loyalty is slipping. Rather than change the course of generational policies that has led to the killing fields of Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, Philadelphia, etc., Democrats have decided to pander harder.
Biden, so white his natural camouflage in a snow storm is nudity, put out a statement dripping in condescension. “Perhaps no music has had as profound and powerful an impact in shaping America's musical score as Black music," Biden said. "For generations, Black music has conveyed the hopes and struggles of a resilient people -- spirituals mourning the original sin of slavery and later heralding freedom from bondage, hard truths told through jazz and the sounds of Motown during the civil rights movement, and hip-hop and rhythm and blues that remind us of the work that still lies ahead.”
Most of hip-hop, at least popular hip-hop, is about getting laid. Then again, so is most music. Do we really need a month celebrating music that tops the charts year-round?
Of course, we don’t need any of this crap. It only serves to help Democrats. Well, at least it used to. Now hairstyles and enjoying various types of food are declared “cultural appropriation” and attacked, along with other everyday things no decent human being has time to give a damn about.
Maybe we should start a Dignity Month, 30 days in which we encourage people to have some. Couple that with Accomplishment Month and all the rest of them can go the way of Joe Biden’s functioning brain. That’s not really fair, Joe Biden never had a fully functioning brain, but you get the idea.
