It’s Different When a Republican Is in Office

It’s one of the old Washington truisms – things are treated differently depending upon the letter after the politician’s name. If it’s a (D), it might not even be a story, no matter what it is. If it’s an (R), all presses must be stopped and every story rewritten to reflect just how big of a scandal whatever the story happens to be is. Even if they are the same stories.

Similarly, everything good that happens under a Democrat President is a direct result of their actions and policies, no matter how disconnected from reality that sentiment may be. Enjoy the sunrise this morning? Thank Joe Biden, MSNBC reports.

When there is a Republican President, the sunrise is just left over from the last time there was a Democrat in the White House and you’d better enjoy it because if that Republican get reelected, it’ll be the last nice sunrise for at least 4 years, according to CNN.

Barack Obama spent 8 years blaming everything bad that happened on his watch in George W. Bush, while claiming credit for anything good. When his own economic policies failed miserably (remember his “stimulus” bill?), his White House created an entirely new unit of measure to lie about their failures: the “jobs saved or created” measurement.

Since they didn’t create any jobs, they pretended they’d saved millions and combined the two. How can you prove you “saved” a job? You can’t. But more importantly, you can’t disprove it either! That’s the key, and the ground on which much of the left’s policy arguments live.

With climate change, they used to make 10 year predictions – we’re all going to die in 10 years if we don’t X, Y, or Z. The problem is we didn’t X, Y, or Z and we’re all still here, the doom and gloom never left the predictions and manifested themselves in reality. Normal people would use 30 years of failed 10 year predictions as cause to question the validity of the entire belief system, but not these committed leftists. They simply wised up in a propaganda way and started making 100 year predictions. The people alive now won’t be around when those tales of destruction don’t come to pass. They can’t be proven, but they can’t be disproven either. And so much of the cultist left’s policy projections are matters of faith, a religion, that it works perfectly.

Now we have Joe Biden, a dithering old man who passes long gas when not soiling himself. From his first day in office, he kneecapped the oil can gas industry through executive order. Ending pipelines, banning drilling, ending exploration – if you wanted to drive up the price of gas, Biden did everything you would do short of taxing the hell out of it or ordering air strikes on every station.

So when prices inevitably started to rise, you’d think Democrats would be proud of their handiwork. Nope. They are in full denial mode.

The Secretary of Energy, failed former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm (who had to find a post-Governorship job in California because her economy was so bad), blames OPEC for the spike in gas prices, not her own actions. We didn’t need OPEC just last year…

Still, you won’t hear how we were energy independent, you’ll only hear about how we’re destroying the planet. If you buy into man-made climate change, you should recognize that no country has done more to reduce what fanatics insist is destroying the planet than the United States. But you can’t be told good things about something you want to destroy and “fundamentally transform,” right?

None of this is by accident. If you put a 5-year-old in charge of things, these are pretty much the rules you get from them – “Everything I do is good, everything you do is bad.” It’s governing by “heads I win, tales you lose.”

The problem is, even when, or especially when, Democrats declare victory for themselves, we all lose. Who is winning right now, anyone? Inflation is a disaster, energy prices are skyrocketing just before winter, food is being hammered, and all of this at a time when the federal government is imposing policies – an unconstitutional federal vaccine mandate – that will cost even more truck drivers at a time when we already don’t have enough. It’s like these people went to the Stalin or Mao school of food supply.

It will all be spun as a big win for Democrats, a smashing success! Why not? The alternative would be for them and their media appendage to tell the truth, and it’s likely been to long for anyone involved to remember how to do that.
