When not setting huge piles our tax dollars on fire, Democrats scramble like mad for the money left in people’s pockets. And they use the most pathetic and desperate-sounding ways imaginable to get in there. Each week it seems like they have a new boogeyman and rhetoric more panicked than the last.
The Democratic National Committee is always finding new and creative ways to lie about what’s happening in the country. On the issue of vote integrity, Democrats have found something that truly scares their voters. It really makes you wonder why an entire major political party is so worked up at the prospect of people proving they are who they say they are when they vote, and voting in-person at polling places whenever possible.
“Texas Republicans’ actions over Memorial Day weekend were nothing more than a shady attempt to suppress voters and voices. It was a threat to our democracy, plain and simple,” a fundraising email from DNC Chairman Jaime Harrison this week started, before getting crazier.
“My grandmother and I spent the weekend talking about what was going on in Texas,” Harrison continued, “about the anti-voter bills that are being introduced nationwide and about the attempts to rewrite our nation’s history.” Who doesn’t love to waste their grandmother’s time with talk of voting law changes is other states?
After months of declaring the voting laws in Georgia “the new Jim Crow” and probably worse, the DNC Chairman declared Texas worse. “It is probably the worst that we’ve seen nationwide,” the email reads. What’s worse than Jim Crow? Oh, sorry, Jim Crow 2.0, which has to be already worse than just plain old Jim Crow, by definition. I’d probably have to ask the pioneer in election denialism herself, and the originator of the absurd idea of Jim Crow 2.0, Stacey Abrams.

Of course, Abrams is busy licking her wounds after costing Atlanta small business owners $100 million in revenue after she chased the Major League Baseball All-Star game out of town, so she’s toned down her rhetoric a little bit. Still, her name remains gold when it comes to bilking gullible Democrats out of the savings.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee sends out emails under the name “Stacey Abrams Alert” to increase the prospect of worried Democrats opening them. Friday’s read, “Republicans all across the country introduced HUNDREDS of voter suppression bills to AVENGE their historic 2O2O losses,” like Republicans are Harry Dean Stanton in Red Dawn screaming, “Avenge me!!” just before being executed by the communists, only they’re not screaming but passing laws through the normal process. Like I’ve said a million times, Democrat leaders are crazy and their base is ready, willing, and able to believe anything.
The email goes downhill from there. “Stacey Abrams is calling on us to SUPPORT pro-voting rights Democrats all across the country,” it continues. “It’s up to us to DEFEND our democracy and PROTECT our voting rights from Trump’s Republicans. That’s why we’re calling on 1,5OO grassroots supporters to step up with a $1 gift to ELECT strong, pro-voting rights House Democrats all across the country.” You’d think something as important as the very survival of “our democracy” would require more than a buck from 1,500 people. How much campaigning can happen in 435 separate congressional campaigns on $3.45? Even if you figure half those districts are so gerrymandered that there’s no reason to spend any money on them, doubling or tripling that $3.45 would only buy a couple of campaign workers a sandwich.
In another email from the National Democratic Training Committee, this one from “are you ignoring her,” the subject line reads, “Stacey Abrams’ last warning.” Naturally, it’s not what you think – Stacey Abrams will continue to issue “warnings” because there’s money in it.
It continues, “They ALL warned you that our democracy is under attack by Republican election-rigging schemes. But sadly, almost no one – and we mean NO ONE – donated to help us elect Democrats who will pass H.R. 1 and end Republican voter suppression. So Stacey Abrams just unleashed a final warning:” Then there is a picture of Abrams with this “final warning” written across it. What does it say? “Our democracy is under attack in Georgia and across the nation.” Seriously, that’s it.
The email just hits you up for money after that, no further explanation or anything about this “dire warning.” The email is basically whining that “almost no one” gave anything last time, which seems doubtful, and turning up the freak-out to 11 in the hopes of scaring people out of more.
I honestly don’t know how any human being reads these things and thinks, “This is where I must give my money. These people are really on the case!” But they work, somehow. They must, because they all have a ton of money and we’re still well over a year before anyone votes.
I hope Republicans are following this stuff, it’d be nice if the weird, hyperventilating, downright crazy things written in these emails would get more exposure so the rest of the country could see how insane and unhinged the left has become and what Democrats are really telling their base when they think no one is listening. Which is exactly why it’s not getting that kind of attention from the media – they know it would show the left for how they really are. And journalists will never, ever do that.
