Pathological Media Amnesia – THE BULWARK
- Billy-K gives GOP pointers on elections, forgets who he is and what he has recently said.
Following the shellacking in Virginia, Bill Kristol decides to come forward and lend send some advice for Republicans, with an eye on the 2022 midterm elections.
I’m doubtful the GOP can be liberated from Trump and Trumpism. But perhaps I’m wrong. (I hope so!)
— Bill Kristol (@BillKristol) November 5, 2021
So to my GOP-loyal or GOP-adjacent friends: Recruit and fund Youngkin-like alternatives for the 2022 Senate primaries in GA, PA, MO, OH…and help them win. https://t.co/tQh8JfkBgN
It is sound and reasonable advice, if you were hearing these words from someone else. Except they are being delivered by Bill Kristol. The same Bill Kristol who did NOT endorse Glenn Youngkin.
The @BillKristol endorsement will be big. Trust me. https://t.co/nrf0cV8oli

Low Octane Gas Lighting – AMY SISKIND
- When whites accuse racism for supporting minorities and not voting for...whites.
The daily amusement with journalists is that as they drape themselves in high-minded framing and insist they employ only fact-based and well-thought-out reports, they resort to emotional outbursts on a quotidian basis. Case in point, look how many are supposedly analyzing the results of the off-year elections and the GOP victories resulting in them wailing about racism in petulant fashion.

On that CNN clip about the so-called white suburban women - the narrative is complete bullsh%! College educated white woman voted for McAuliffe by a bigger margin than Biden. Non-college white women gave it to Youngkin- and the reason is simple: racism- they don't want progress.

The mirth arrives when you understand that had Amy taken just 30 seconds of introspection on the matter, she could have avoided embarrassment. But she did not...and thus, she did not.
It is amazing that Amy declared suburban women who voted in a black Lt. Governor and Hispanic Att. General are racist because they did not vote for this privileged mook. https://t.co/fuDHyhJWjo pic.twitter.com/KKltTH5Yc7

Pre-Written Field Reports – CNN
- Brian Stelter was prepared to defend the media – except he failed to properly prepare.
Brain Stelter hosted his weekly show, "Reliable Sources," and many were betting on whether or not he would cover the big media story of the weekend about the media being exposed for spending years following the Steele dossier – proven to be literally an UN-reliable news source. Vegas took the betting line down due to too many accurately predicting he would avoid the story.
Brian did try to bolster the character of the news media by having on author Batya Ungar-Sargon, who just wrote a book on the problems in the woke media.
"It's not woke to agitate fiercely for police reform. That's a moral emergency. It's woke to call for defunding the police." More w @brianstelter about affluent white liberals use the real pain of Black Americans as an excuse to abandon the working class:https://t.co/SBURJUpVnZ
— Batya Ungar-Sargon (@bungarsargon) November 8, 2021
Throughout the interview, Brian tried to interrupt or dissuade her from her points, but she was something he had not anticipated – she was competent and unwavering, making him look like a dolt at times. In one exchange she said of the press, "The media's response to Youngkin's victory [a win for white supremacy] is literally the reason that he won." Stelter attempted to defend his industry, in this tepid fashion.
- "There's a hundred media, a hundred reactions – you're being pretty over-generalized about that."
That she not only had an answer for him but managed to use his interjection to lay out the full context of her point was basically a depantsing of the host. (Apologies for the image this presented.)
Reporting on the Mirror – THE NEW YORK TIMES
- Peter Baker sees the heroes of the infrastructure bill in his own reflection.
On Friday, the nation drowning in ever-spiraling inflation learned that we would further be on the hook for trillions of more dollars in spending when Joe Biden's infrastructure bill was approved.
Now, you would think that the senators who were cajoled to sign away their reelection chances would be considered those responsible for passage, but Peter Baker is here to inform us who became the real heroes in this endeavor.
Whatever you think of the outcome tonight, one thing we all ought to be grateful for are the incredible congressional correspondents who have covered this long debate with smarts, insight and especially stamina.

Hoax & Change – MSNBC
- Celebrating an anniversary no one cares about JUST to keep Donald Trump in the news.
Recall that curious post-election news conference that was staged by Rudy Giuliani in front of a landscaping supply outlet? That's okay, nobody else recalls it either, but at MSNBC, they saw fit to present a documentary about that odd and ultimately pointless event that led up to nothing good or bad happening, on the one year anniversary of it taking place.
They just gave us the polar opposite of Must-See TV.
Now on @MSNBC:

Pulitzer Prize Nomination – BLOOMBERG NEWS
- It's so nice to have a president who restores dignity to the office by... (checks dispatch)...uh, by going for a stroll.
Bloomberg's Amy Cook gives us a deeply gripping account of the Bidens as they took a vacation. According to the diligent work of Cook, it appears by all measures and evidence that Mr. Biden and his wife – went for a walk.
President Biden and Dr. Biden went for a walk on Rehoboth Beach this afternoon, along with 19 secret service agents and a large Coast Guard ship just offshore. pic.twitter.com/69eYXthQja
— Nancy Cook (@nancook) November 7, 2021
A small piece of advice for Ms. Cook; placement of the words "The First Couple..." does not make for gripping reporting. For instance, quotidian activity is not elevated when they engage in such, so "The President and First Lady bought some scratch-off lottery tickets," is not the least bit captivating.
