RESOURCES: Books & DVDs tell KJV history
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)--Several publishers and organizations have released books and DVDs to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the publication of the King James Bible.

Here are some of them:

BOOKS

-- "Majestie: The King Behind the King James Bible" by David Teems (Thomas Nelson, 2010). Teems' biography tells the story of James, from his birth to his death, as well as the story of the King James Bible.

-- "The Legacy of the King James Bible" by Leland Ryken (Crossway, 2011). Ryken's book focuses on the translation of the King James Bible and its impact on the world.

-- "The Story of the Bible" by Larry Stone (Thomas Nelson, 2010). Stone's book tells the 3,500 story of Bible translation and comes with 23 life-size removable pages that are copies from pages of some of the world's most important Bibles.

DVDS

-- "KJB: The Book that Changed the World" (Lionsgate, 2010). In this 90-minute documentary mixed with drama, actor John Rhys-Davies travels to landmarks throughout the United Kingdom that were key to the translation of the King James Version.

-- "KJV: The Making of the King James Bible" (Vision Video, 2010). In a 45-minute documentary that also includes drama, director Jerry Griffith shows how the English world's division over various Bible translations in the 1500s and early 1600s provided a motive to coalesce around one common Bible, the King James Version.
