New Study: West Is the Most 'Buzzworthy' Freshman in the House

"Allen West, Joe Walsh, Tim Scott, and Sean Duffy are the most covered U.S. House freshmen of 2011," reads a new report from Smart Politics in an article titled, "Head of the Class: The Most Buzzworthy House Freshmen of the 112th Congress."

The study measured mentions in TV transcripts via the search website Lexis/Nexis, though that does not take into account some "morning and early afternoon programming (e.g. MSNBC)."

West is the clear frontrunner, however, among the names mentioned above:

"Representative West has been interviewed or mentioned in 222 news programs since January of this year - by far the most of the freshman class."

All of the press seems to be paying off. West had 12,000 new individuals join his re-election campaign in the last quarter, where he raised over $1.5 million.
