Eric Holder Either Grossly Incompetent or Lied Under Oath

Last night on CNN's Anderson Cooper, House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa accused the Obama Justice Department of trying to spin Attorney General Eric Holder's May 3 testimony, when Holder told Congress he had only known about Operation Fast and Furious for "a couple of weeks," after memos surfaced this week showing Holder was briefed nearly a year before he claimed. The Justice Department is trying to make it look like Holder simply didn't understand the question.

Sidenote: Many in the media continue, as Anderson Cooper did, to call Operation Fast and Furious a "botched operation." This operation was not botched, it was carried out exactly as planned.

“Allowing loads of weapons that we knew to be destined for criminals, this was the plan. It was so mandated.” –Special Agent John Dodson ATF Phoenix Field Division.

Yesterday, I addressed the issue of whether the "same tactics" were used under President Bush as used through Operation Fast and Furious under Obama. Like Issa said in the clip above, we aren't giving any administration a pass, however it is very important to distinguish the difference between tactics used under different administrations and to avoid allowing the mainstream media to falsely turn the heat from Holder to the Bush Administration in order to save the Obama Administration from any responsibility for the lethal program.
