Sarah Palin Kicks Off Tour by Motorcycle in Washington DC

Sarah Palin kicked off her hotly-anticipated mini-tour of the country by riding in to Washington DC with the yearly "Rolling Thunder" motorcycle event. She was flanked by husband Todd and daughters Bristol and Willow as they played to large crowds of supporters and reporters.

Palin's "One Nation" bus tour will reportedly head up the east coast from here, though her website still has not released official dates and stops. Nevertheless, if she draws crowds like she did here in Washington, she'll have throngs showing up.

This is just the latest in a series of events that seem to be telltale signs of a presidential run. The motorcycle stop was the first on the aforementioned bus tour, and there will be a Palin-authorized biographical film debuting this summer in Iowa.

Just today, John McCain said on Fox News Sunday that he believes Sarah Palin can win not just the GOP nomination but the general election.

"Of course she can. She can. Now, whether she will, whether she'll even run or not, I don't know," the Arizona Republican said. "But you know a lot of things happen in campaigns Chris. I was written off a few times and we were able to come back so it's going to be a roller coaster ride for all of them before we arrive at our nominee. But she certainly is a major factor and I believe she can be very competitive."
