Is life getting back to normal in Minnesota? Gov. Tim Walz (D) has just signed an executive order that will start to ease restrictions on outdoor activities.
"It's important for us to stay active and enjoy the outdoors while preventing the spread of COVID-19," Gov. Walz said. "This measure will allow Minnesotans to take advantage of more opportunities to get outside, while still doing their part to keep their neighbors healthy."
Executive Order 20-38, the governor's office explained, allows several facilities to reopen or remain open, such as outdoor shooting ranges, golf courses, parks and trails, and marina services.

In contrast, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) has been closing just about any facility you can name, and some of her decisions seem pretty arbitrary. People are still free to purchase marijuana, but not gardening seeds. Citizens have found her laws so draconian that they've descended on the state Capitol in protest.
Gov. Walz's executive order, more than a few people observed, had interesting timing. It dropped just a few minutes after President Trump tweeted that the state needed to be "liberated."

Trump tweeted the same about Michigan, but we doubt we'll see the same results.
On Thursday, Trump and his coronavirus task force announced their plan to reopen America in three phases. They hope some states can begin the process on May 1.
