Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) laid into CBS reporter Nancy Cordes on Wednesday after she said she read all of the deposition transcripts, prompting the North Carolina Republican to point out that all of the deposition transcripts have not yet been released.
"For the case you're making, to be true...every single witness who has testified, more than a dozen of them, would either have to be lying..." Cordes began to say during a break for the first public impeachment inquiry hearing.
"That's not correct. You're characterization is so inherently wrong and biased," Meadows interjected. He then asked her how many hours has she sat in the depositions because "I haven't seen you."
"I've read all of the depositions," Cordes replied.
"You have not read all of the transcripts — I beg to differ because they haven't all been released. So there's no way that you've read them all, " Meadows shot back. "But I can tell you, you're premiere is not right. I've been in those depositions and I can tell you there is contradictory information."
Meadows said President Trump did not put any conditions on the military aid that was slated to go to Ukraine. Started with a whistleblower complaint about a phone call Trump had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the impeachment inquiry is investigating if Trump abused the power of the office by tying the aid to Ukraine looking into former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter.
Hunter Biden sat on the board of Burisma Holdings, a gas company that has a history of corruption, while his father was vice president. Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs George Kent testified on Wednesday he raised his concern about Hunter sitting on the company's board in 2015.
