Oakland, CA Mayor Libby Schaaf earned notoriety last year for warning illegal immigrants in the Bay Area community about an upcoming Immigration Customs and Enforcement raid. Many of those individuals heeded her warning and got a head start on the immigration officials, fleeing as fast as they could.
President Trump fumed and warned Schaaf that she could face obstruction of justice charges for her interference. She made no apology and instead deemed herself a hero. Sending the 24-hour warning, she said, was the "right thing" to do because Oakland is safer when they "encourage community awareness."
She's still at it. When Trump tweeted out his new plan to deploy ICE agents around the country to deport "millions of illegal aliens" on Tuesday, Schaaf said not today.

Schaaf's heads up warning for illegal immigrants last year allowed hundreds to escape ICE custody, according to the Department of Justice. Agents managed to arrest 232 people, 180 of whom were either convicted criminals, had been ordered to leave the U.S. and didn't, or had been previously removed and had come back illegally. Another 115 “had prior felony convictions for serious or violent offenses.” Some of the crimes included aggravated assault, murder, a hit and run, lewd acts with a minor, burglary, you name it.
Three were reported to have already committed new crimes. Still, Schaaf continues her Braveheart charade.
