Nikki Haley Throws in Another Dig at the UN As She's Announced Pro-life Keynote Speaker

“We are proud to honor our longtime friend, Nikki Haley, for her strong pro-life leadership,” SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser said on Wednesday. She was proud to announce that the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations will be the keynote speaker for their 12th annual pro-life gala.

In her statement, Dannenfelser reminded the pro-life community why Haley was at the top of their list.

“During her time as governor, Nikki signed landmark legislation to end brutal late-term abortions in South Carolina. President Trump then made a very wise decision in selecting her to serve as ambassador to the United Nations," Dannenfelser said. "In this role she was a fierce defender of unborn children and their mothers and of American interests in protecting the vulnerable. She stood up to the international abortion lobby and played a key role in advancing the Trump administration’s pro-life priorities, resulting in historic gains for life on a global scale.”

Some of those priorities included the expansion of the Mexico City Policy, which would curb the taxpayer funding of overseas abortions.

Haley accepted the invitation with gratitude, and managed to throw in another dig at the UN while doing so.

“At the United Nations, America is often in the minority when we stand up for our values, but we proudly stand strong for them anyway, because it's the right thing to do," she said in a new statement. "At home, the Susan B. Anthony List reminds us of the importance of staying true to our values, and no value is more sacred than the right to life. On late term abortions in particular, America is too often falling short of our own values.”

In her role at the UN, Haley often shamed the organization for its skewed agenda, which apparently also included condemning Israel.

The SBA List Gala will take place on Monday, June 3 at the Andrew Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C. President Trump delivered last year's keynote address.
