Before you watch this insanity, which made the social media rounds this week, may I remind you that Senator Barack Obama met privately with, and complimented, this man at an event coordinated by the Congressional Black Caucus -- a disgrace that was deliberately hidden from voters until Obama was safely out of office? May I also remind you that numerous CBC members have courted this man's support, including the current deputy DNC Chairman, who hasn't been truthful about the nature of that relationship? As I've previously argued, "minister" Louis Farrakhan is the Left's version of David Duke, in that he's an overtly racist and bigoted crank with something of a following. A key difference is that no Republican who decided to ally himself with Duke would ever get away with it. Donald Trump had to be hounded into (correctly) denouncing Duke after briefly dodging the issue during the 2016 election. But Farrakhan? Obama eventually got around to condemning his anti-Semitic lunacy, but added that he wouldn't reject his support. "I can’t say to somebody that he can’t say that he thinks I’m a good guy," he shrugged during a Democratic debate. Here's who he was talking about:

Yes, that video was made after Obama was elected, but by that point, Farrakhan's vile racism had been a well-documented fact for decades. The recent and active ties of elected Democrats and lefty activists to this hate-monger have barely blipped on the mainstream media's radar screen, with relatively few exceptions:

Rank racial, ethnic and religious bigotry is unacceptable. So in what possible way is it acceptable for elected members of a major American political party to be affiliated with this odious person? The hard truth is that the Western Left has a real and growing anti-Semitism problem, and it's not always relegated to the fringe. Liberals have a moral imperative root out the ugliness in their own midst, and their friends in the media should feel obligated to hold leaders accountable on this front. Just as the Right must excise the Alt-Right's cancerous strains of bigotry, so must the Left police the Alt-Left. Indeed, double standards, aided by media ambivalence, only serve to breed resentments and empower the Alt-Right. The 21-year-old victim of an anti-Semitic attack on the streets of Berlin has told German media that, despite the fact that he was wearing a traditional Jewish skullcap, he was not Jewish, but an Israeli Arab wearing the kippa as an experiment. "I'm not Jewish, I'm an Israeli, I grew up in Israel in an Arab family," the man told German broadcaster Deutsche Welle. He was conducting what he termed an "experiment" in response to a warning from a friend that wearing a kippa in Germany was unsafe, saying he refused to believe this...A video of the attack Tuesday showing one of the victims being whipped with a belt quickly went viral...An interview by Israeli broadcaster Kann identified the 21-year-old as Israeli Adam Armoush and showed that he was slightly injured by the belt...Police said they are still looking for the attackers. Two Jewish organizations posted the video, which showed a young man attacking the victim while yelling "Yahudi!" or "Jew" in Arabic.
