Petty Indeed: CNN Contributor Gloats Over Omarosa's Resignation

Omarosa Manigault has left the White House Office of Public Liaison. There was quite a bit of drama regarding how she left, with some reports that the Secret Service had to escort her out. Some reports said she was physically dragged off of the White House grounds. The Secret Service said no such thing happened earlier this morning. What did happen was that Ms. Manigault submitted her resignation; her last day at the White House will be on January 20.  Reportedly, she’s leaving over how the Trump administration has handled racially charged issues. On Good Morning America, she said, “I have seen things that made me uncomfortable, that have upset me, that have affected me deeply and emotionally, that has affected my community and my people.”

The news of her departure had CNN Contributor Angela Rye jumping for glee during her appearance with Brooke Baldwin yesterday. American Urban Radio’s April Ryan and Symone Sanders, another CNN commentator and former press secretary for Bernie Sanders, were also in the segment.

"I’m going to do what you can’t do, and what April and Symone are too good of people to do, and that’s just be petty for a minute,” before screaming and gloating in exhalation of Omarosa’s exit.

“Bye, girl—bye. We already did this on the podcast, April, but bye, honey. You have never represented the community. You are skinfolk. We don’t own you like Zora. Goodbye. Good riddance. Goodbye—deuces out!” she added.

Ryan added that she doesn’t delight in anyone’s demise to which Rye said she doesn’t either and wishes Omarosa the best.

That was a nasty bit of identity politics theater, right there. Also, grow up, lady.

Omarosa also trashed Ryan’s reporting of her departure from the White House in the GMA interview, saying “I think we should take the word of the Secret Service over someone who has a personal vendetta to bring me down, and they personally gain by continuing to advance these false narratives.”
