So, President Trump held a rally in Phoenix, Arizona. He went after the state’s Republican senators, Jeff Flake and John McCain, though he didn’t mention them by name, torched the media, and overall did what he usually does at these events. It triggered a meltdown on CNN, but outside of the venue, protesters did what they usually do in the age of Trump; they threw rocks and bottles at police. Yet, for one protester, one kick to a tear gas canister is probably going to ruin his week, as police then shot him in the genitals with a pepper ball. I mean it was a bullseye hit. The impact knocked the hell out of this person, dropping him to the ground before being helped by a fellow left wing demonstrator and taken off the street.

In the aftermath, there were no deaths, but four people were arrested, one of which was unrelated to the protest (via 3TV/CBS 5):According to Sgt. Howard with Phoenix police, some people in the crowd began to throw rocks, bottles and other projectiles at police and someone in the crowd dispersed tear gas in the area.

After the crowd was given a warning to disperse, police used smoke, pepper balls, pepper spray, tear gas and flash bangs to make them disperse. Howard said that no rubber bullets were used by police.

Police did make four arrests, three pertaining the protests and one on an unrelated warrant. The three arrested in relation to the protests were 28-year-old Daireus Stokes, 25-year-old Pamela Robertson and 34-year-old Derrick Pacheco.
Stokes was arrested for three counts of aggravated assault on police, three counts of disorderly conduct, one count of resisting arrest and three counts of threatening and intimidating.
