Journalist: Scaramucci's Performance Is Creating Even More Leaks--'My Phone Is Blowing Up'

Journalist Joshua Green said Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci's performance is making the Trump administration's problem with leaks even worse.

Appearing on CNN’s “New Day,” Green said “Scaramucci is being entirely earnest in coming on the air and stomping all over White House leakers,” he said, but “the problem is, his performance is creating more leaks live in real time. My phone is blowing up.”

The senior national correspondent for Bloomberg Businessweek went on to read some of the messages he said were from “Trump advisers.”

“Dude, how bad was that? How is this thing playing live on the air? Call me when you off,” he said, reading from his phone.

“I mean, this is amplifying precisely the problem that Scaramucci is trying to shut down. I don't think this is going to be a very effective strategy," he added.

Scaramucci was on the same program moments before Green talking about his strategy cracking down on leakers, even suggesting Chief of Staff Reince Priebus come out and “explain that he’s not a leaker.”

The new communications director has vowed to “fire everybody” caught leaking information to the press.

"I'm going to fire everybody, that's how I'm going to do it," Scaramucci told reporters this week when asked how he would deal with the problem. "You're either going to stop leaking or you're going to get fired."
