BREAKING: Shooting At Texas High School; UPDATE: Female Shooter Dead, Situation All Clear

CNN is reporting that a shooting has occurred at a Texas high school, with one person shot in the attack. The Alpine High School Brewster County has been placed on lockdown. There are reportedly two shooters on the loose, but as we’ve seen with other past shootings—that’s subject to change.

We’ll keep you updated.

UPDATE: Just one shooter, a female, and she's died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Fox News, CNN, NBC News, and a local ABC News affiliate are now reporting that the situation at the Alpine High School has concluded, with two people being shot and wounded. The shooter, a female, shot another student before killing herself. The second person wounded was a police officer that was shot in a friendly fire incident by a federal marshal who was responding to the shooting.

The female shooter opened fire on her classmate in a bathroom around 11 a.m. ET. Alpine and the surrounding schools remain on lockdown.

Now, given the media's penchant to report on shootings, saying we're a shooting gallery, pushing gun control, and the various sub-discussions about angry white males and poisonous masculinity, will the media report with fervor on this tragic incident? My guess is probably not.
