Obama and Kerry Wine and Dine in Paris: American Taxpayers Cover the Tab

Barack Obama and John Kerry dined in one of the finest restaurants that France has to offer yesterday. This comes after the president and secretary of state met in Paris to discuss climate issues with world leaders.

Sitting cozy with a plethora of lavish furniture, the government workers enjoyed themselves at L’Ambroisie in the town of Marais. A three-course meal at this restaurant can run anywhere from $300 to $400.

Obama joked with the reporters in the room saying, “don’t break the chandelier, you can’t afford it.”

How about this idea: Instead of taking world leaders to fancy restaurants, take them to one of the 12 American cemeteries in France and show the world what America is prepared to do to defend freedom. Forget the $400 wine and three-course meal, and just show them the 9,387 graves at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial free of cost. Show them the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery and Memorial where over 2,000 U.S. Marines rest.

There is plenty to choose from, probably more than on the entrée menu at L’Ambroisie.
