ACU Confirms Rick Santorum At CPAC

The American Conservative Union has confirmed Rick Santorum as a speaker at this year's Conservative Political Action Conference. Santorum is one of the biggest names now confirmed, and joins a confirmed roster of 2016 hopefuls like Sen. Ted Cruz, Ben Carson, and Carly Fiorina.

Santorum said that he's "impressed with the new team leading ACU, and I am pleased they are working to restore all three legs of the conservative stool to stimulate an intellectually invigorating CPAC."

ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp said in a statement that,

Rick Santorum has a proven track record of fighting for conservative values at every stage of his career. As a Member of both the U.S. House and Senate, Rick was a consistent voice who reliably sought to enact conservative policy solutions on Capitol Hill. As a presidential candidate he won 11 primaries/caucuses and received almost 4 million votes. Those successes as a presidential candidate reflect his understanding that victory depends on strong coalition-building and conservatives' ability to bring people together. The activists and students at CPAC are sure to be energized by Rick's presence.

Potential 2016 hopefuls have been lining up for conservative conferences. Santorum will also appear at the Iowa Freedom Summit later this month alongside fellow CPAC speakers Ted Cruz, Ben Carson, and Carly Fiorina.
