In a last-ditch effort to possibly help Sen. Mary Landrieu (D) win the run-off election in Louisiana, the Senate may possibly finally vote on approving the Keystone XL pipeline. This vote comes at the beginning of the lame-duck session of Congress following last Tuesday's elections.

Senate Democrats are considering scheduling a vote in the lame-duck session to force approval of the Keystone XL pipeline, a party aide said, a move that may bolster Louisiana Democrat Mary Landrieu’s re-election battle.
The Senate Democratic aide, who requested anonymity to discuss the plans, said the vote was under consideration, yet specific language hadn’t been determined.
The Keystone XL pipeline is widely approved by members of both parties, as well as the general public. The Senate has already voted in several non-binding measures to approve the pipeline, but President Obama has final say about the project's approval.
Landrieu has been a vocal supporter of the Keystone XL pipeline.
While this vote may or may not actually happen, and it may or may not help Sen. Landrieu, let's hope that progress is finally made on the project at some point in the near future.
