Wait...That's What NBC News Focused on Instead of the Migrant Crisis?

AP Photo/Richard Drew

The end of this month has been hellacious, especially with the spending drama on the Hill, but the border crisis remains an open wound for this country that isn’t getting the attention it deserves. It wouldn’t have seen the light of day if it hadn’t been for Texas building a buoy barrier, which prompted a lawsuit from the Biden administration or Republican governors shipping illegals to Democrat-run cities.

It brought the issue front and center for Democrats who felt safe from the chaos at the border. New Yorkers are trying to stop buses from dumping more migrants into the city. Mayor Eric Adams is warning that the crisis could destroy the city. There’s already talk about cuts across multiple agencies to accommodate these people.

Chicago is the same way, with residents incensed that $50 million was allocated to housing these people ahead of native residents. Its mayor, Brandon Johnson, didn’t take kindly to Adams’ apocalyptic, but the city is facing the same pinch regarding the deluge of illegals pouring into it. But NBC News opted not to report on any of this during one of their broadcasts, instead opting to cover this national crisis.

It was September 20. The recall of Kraft cheese slices was more pressing than the invasion at the southern border. I’m not kidding. ABC and CBS News, to their credit, did cover the crisis along the Rio Grande, which Biden officials continue to assert is under control. They also say the border is closed, which is patently false. The millions of new illegals that have crossed over under Biden’s watch bust that narrative. Cheese slices? Are you kidding me (via Newsbusters) [emphasis mine]:

ABC’s coverage of the Biden border crisis extended into their flagship evening newscast on … with CBS joining them this time. NBC still appeared to have no interest in covering this international crisis. While ABC’s World News Tonight managed to give considerable airtime to the crisis, not once was Biden or his administration mentioned. NBC Nightly News completely ignored the Biden induced crisis.

NBC’s Lester Holt was too busy reporting on a recall of Kraft cheese slices to care about the United States being overrun with migrants.

World News Tonight anchor David Muir reported at the top of the segment there’s “anger over the migrant crisis in this country.” In New York City, on Staten Island, that anger boiling over. Protesters pinned down, multiple arrests,” Muir noted. “And it's not just New York. Multiple states tonight.”

The media is forced to cover these stories, thanks to the migrants being bused all over blue America. Even when some outlets try to bury it, they can’t. It’s happening in their backyard. That’s what needs to happen with the Hunter Biden bribery allegations. There have been weeks of corroborating testimony and evidence that point to something serious with the Biden family's financial transactions. It’s been chiefly buried, thanks to Trump’s legal drama. It’s funny how a Trump indictment dropped when the Hunter Biden story started to catch on. The Left can no longer kill the story that way. Trump’s indictment circus is over, which means we have weeks and months to sift through the activities of the Biden crime family.

On top of that, the border fiasco isn’t going anywhere. With liberals starting to turn on illegal aliens, the 2024 race could become a referendum on illegal immigration, an issue Trump used to win the 2016 Republican nomination. While Biden works the abortion angle, something that will become more aggressive next year, Trump can return to illegal immigration, and we'll see which base issue resonates more.
