Apparently, WaPo Thinks Only Conservatives Are Troubled By VA Gov's Baby Killing Remarks

Lauretta wrote about this trip-up this morning. We all saw New York’s abortion bill that legalized this heinous procedure through nine months is reared its ugly head here in Virginia. It was briefly considered in the House of Delegates, which rejected the legislation, but Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam decided to offer his views about it:

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D) made some startling remarks defending allowing an infant born alive to die on WTOP Wednesday when asked about the debate over Virginia House of Delegates member Kathy Tran’s (D-Fairfax) bill that would allow an abortion even after the woman goes into labor.

“If a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen,” he said. “The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.”

Excuse me? That’s infanticide. It’s murder. Period. Yes, the governor’s office is backtracking and clarifying, but the damage is done. Then again, there will always be the news media to offer gov. baby killer some much need political cover, while also saying that conservatives have pounced on him for his half-assed assessment. Remember this man is a medical doctor. He knows better. You can’t spin this. You can’t polish a turd. Also, this angers only conservatives, Washington Post. What crack are you smoking? I’m pretty sure baby killing would appall everyone, and the governor offered an explicit example of it. Also, late-term abortions are seldom done for medical reasons, i.e. the life of the mother or fetal abnormalities. So, can we cut the crap on that point too, Media Matters, who also rushed to the governor’s defense?

Conservatives also “pounced” on LeBron James for a social media post that reportedly contained rap lyrics that were anti-Semitic. James apologized for the post. Still, conservatives pouncing over anti-Semitism and politicians promoting baby killing. Gee—how awful, right? How dare they...how friggin' dare they get upset over that?
