Ann Coulter Is Not Happy With Trump's Softening on Immigration

Author Ann Coulter, who is out promoting her new book In Trump We Trust, isn't happy about Trump's ever softening illegal immigration stance and is blaming consultants for the change.

“I think this is a mistake. It sounds like it’s coming from consultants,” Coulter said last night on Hardball with Chris Matthews. “I’ve thought he’s made other mistakes, and I’ve given him constructive criticism when I think he makes a mistake. I think this is a mistake.”

Trump's backtracking on tough illegal immigration measures, including mass deportations, shouldn't be surprising. After all, it was Trump who called Romney's comments about self-deportation for economic reasons "mean-spirited" and "maniacal." It's also Trump who regularly hires immigrant workers to complete his building projects.

Real estate mogul Donald Trump recently reflected on former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s loss, telling Newsmax that the candidate failed to resonate among certain demographics in part because of his “maniacal” immigration policy.

“He had a crazy policy of self-deportation, which was maniacal,” Trump said. “It sounded as bad as it was, and he lost all of the Latino vote ... He lost the Asian vote. He lost everybody who is inspired to come into this country.”

“The Democrats didn’t have a policy for dealing with illegal immigrants,” Trump told Newsmax. “But what they did have going for them is they weren’t mean-spirited about it.”

On Monday during an interview with Bill O'Reilly, Trump said he will focus on the deportation of violent criminal aliens and "do what Obama has done," on immigration policy.

Sorry Ann, Trump's "mistake" could be seen coming a mile away.
