New York City Considering Happy Meal Toy Ban
Food hysteria strikes again. Bureaucrats in New York City are proposing a bill today which would ban toys in fast food meals that contain more than 500 calories, 600 milligrams of sodium, or 35% of calories from fat. A

similar measure was enacted last year, in San Francisco.

Proponents of the bill are peddling the usual lines:

"The child wants the toys. Not that fries and nuggets", says Councilwoman Inez Dickens, of Harlem.

"The City Council can empower parents by making it harder for the fast food industry to target children with predatory marketing techniques", Councilman Leroy Comrie, of Queens claims.

As Townhall previously reported, whenever a bureaucrat wants to take something away from you, they will couch their legislation in language about 'choice'.
