Graham Predicts a New AG After the Midterms

President Trump continues to question the effectiveness of his Attorney General Jeff Sessions. During an interview with "Fox & Friends" that aired Thursday, he questioned for the umpteenth time Sessions's ability to serve as AG.

Thursday's very public criticism may be one too many. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) is now predicting that Trump will fire Sessions by the time the midterms are over.

“I think there will come a time, sooner rather than later, where it will be time to have a new face and a fresh voice at the Department of Justice,” Graham told Bloomberg News. “Clearly, Attorney General Sessions doesn’t have the confidence of the president.”

In the past year, Trump has criticized Sessions for recusing himself from the investigation into Russian collusion. The current investigation, led by special counsel Robert Mueller, is a "witch hunt," according to the president. Trump has also hit Sessions for not pursuing charges against Hillary Clinton for her email scandal. Sessions' supposed lethargy on both the Hillary Clinton and Russia scandals earned him the nicknames "beleaguered" and "weak."

The only reason he gave Sessions the job in the first place is because he felt "loyalty," Trump recalled.

Sessions defended his agency and his leadership Thursday.
