How to Get Sgt. Tahmoorissi Home

I’ve written about the plight of U.S. Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi for weeks now. It’s a sad story. It’s made even sadder by President Obama’s terrible trade for what appears to be a deserter and traitor, while he allows a true hero to languish behind bars in Mexico.

Tahmoorsessi is being falsely imprisoned by our “friend” and neighbor Mexico.

He’s been mistreated, beaten and some would say tortured.

I’ve already suggested what should be done to free this Marine hero - warn the President of Mexico that every option is on the table until we get our Marine hero back.

But assuming that Obama will never threaten the use of force (100,000 U.S. Marines at Camp Pendleton), I have another solution for him. A peaceful solution. A simple solution.

The president needs to announce that starting tomorrow our border with Mexico is closed. No one is going to or from Mexico. All business with Mexico is cancelled until our Marine hero is returned.

From this moment on all Americans should be asked to cancel their vacations to Mexico. Good luck to Cabo, Acapulco and Cancun. Everyone can switch to Hawaii.

Let’s make a wager on how quick Tahmooressi is returned. I’ll guess 24 hours or less. Anyone want to wager on the “over?”

Unfortunately, none of my solutions stand a chance of ever happening. Our esteemed commander in chief clearly lacks the common sense or intestinal fortitude to save one of his soldiers who willingly (and honorably) fought for this country. He’s too busy freeing Jihadist mass murderers in order to save deserters who hate America.

I realize that Tahmoorsessi’s father doesn’t speak Arabic.

I realize Tahmooressi hasn’t forgotten English.

I realize Tahmooressi doesn’t refuse to speak to his own mother and father.

Perhaps Tahmoooressi offends our president. Tahmoooressi just isn’t Obama’s cup of tea.

So let’s assume the border will never be closed by Obama. That might actually offend the Mexican prison guards who kicked our Marine hero in the ribs while he was chained by all four wrists and ankles to a filthy bed. That might offend the Mexican prison doctors who withheld food and water from him. We couldn’t have that in Obama’s politically correct, bow-to-foreigners world.

So let’s move on to more realistic, doable solutions. Given the fact that America is still a Republic, with a Constitution that protects States’ Rights, it’s time for our Republican border state governors to take a stand.

The governors of Texas, Arizona and New Mexico may not have the right to close the border, but they can help increase the odds of Tahmooressi’s release by setting up an "agricultural check-point" one block from every border crossing and staff the check point with ONE very slow moving inspection agent who is under orders to inspect EVERY vehicle that passes through. That agent should be ordered to ask every driver coming from Mexico to step out of the vehicle to be hand searched. He should check pockets for seeds that do not belong in the United States. Each search should be exceedingly S-L-O-W. Within hours the backup will stretch to Mexico City and we can all be assured that our hero Marine will be freed.

Gov. Rick Perry are you listening? Gov. Jan Brewer? Gov. Susana Martinez? This is your chance to show how a Republican leader defends and protects the citizens of the United States.

Tahmooressi's release should have been achieved many weeks ago, if this had been handled correctly by our president. But better late than never. My bet is we'll hear about his release this week. Why? Only because of the pressure put on by patriots and conservatives across this country.

So please keep the calls, letters and emails coming to Congress and the White House. Even Obama has to act under this kind of national outrage.

Hang on Tahmooressi. America is coming!
