The scenes from the southwest border this week were apocalyptic.
Thousands of men from Senegal, Angola, Morocco and other far away countries lined up next to the border wall, lit fires with trash, turned the desert into a sea of human waste and waited to declare their “fear” before receiving a taxpayer-funded bus or plane ticket to an American city of their choice. Human smugglers mocked Border Patrol agents as they pushed their product, people, through the fence, knowing they won’t be punished. Instead, they’ll be back soon with another load.
It’s clear to any honest person that the asylum system is being abused, leading to the worst border catastrophe in the country’s history and enabling mass waves of single adult males to stay in the United States indefinitely. To Border Patrol agents, illegal immigrants say they have fear. To reporters, they say they are here to work, and receive free benefits like housing or healthcare.
Due to a lack of documentation and identity fraud, there is no real vetting of these men. Processing has turned into a hollowed out procedure to slap individuals with a court date 5-10 years in the future, not a way to make sure criminals or terrorists aren’t infiltrating the country. And then, there are the gotaways. These are the more than one million individuals who didn’t want to be caught and snuck right through, into the shadows of our communities.
On Tuesday, 12,000 illegal immigrants crossed in a single day, blowing through previous records. At the same time, FBI Director Christopher Wray was on Capitol Hill warning the U.S. is at severe risk of a terror attack.

“I see blinking lights everywhere I turn,” Wray told lawmakers, adding there has been a “steady drumbeat of calls for attacks by foreign terrorist organizations since October 7.”
For months, Republicans on Capitol Hill have worked to cut down on asylum fraud, which is the main reason for the never ending influx of unvetted individuals, in addition to bolstering border security against criminal actors and cartels.
“America is being overrun,” Senator Lindsey Graham said during an interview with Fox News. “I feel like I’m in an episode of 24 and the bomb is ticking and we’re not going to get there in time.”
“President Biden if you’re watching this show, if you’re awake, you better come up with a solution to the broken border before a bunch of people get killed. This is a national security disaster in the making,” he continued.
The Democrats, led by President Joe Biden, are refusing to help thwart the threat caused by an open border. In fact, they don’t see it as a national security issue at all. Republicans are rightfully forcing Biden and his party to make some choices.
“Republicans in Congress are threatening to cut off support for Ukraine unless they can force through their extreme partisan border policies. It’s political blackmail, pure and simple,” Biden claimed on Twitter. “The stakes are too high and the consequences are too significant for political brinksmanship.”
The stakes are high. Too high, which is why funding for foreign borders is being held until Democrats start being concerned about the borders of their own country. With his refusal to negotiate, Biden continues to risk the lives of Americans for the sake of appeasing an open border left. Every minute he's giving easy opportunities to our enemies. What will it take for him to finally acknowledge the problem? Dead Americans cannot be the answer.
